Guiding you on your unique journey

“Shelley’s yoga classes are a joy to attend. The ‘little nuggets’ of wisdom she shares makes each class incredibly enriching. 10/10, highly recommended!” Chloe Y.

“I was fortunate to meet Shelley when I first started my yoga journey. Almost a decade later, I am still very grateful to have Shelley as part of my practice. Shelley is an amazing teacher with an incredible understanding of the postures and a keen eye for correction; little wonder considering her incredible practice. Shelley truly leads by example whilst happily still a student sharing her learnings during her amazing savasana talks.

When my son started Hot Yoga as an 18 year old several years ago, Shelley was his teacher for his first class. My son found it overwhelming and left the room on several occasions. He fondly recalls how Shelley gently encouraged him through that first session and sent him home with a love of yoga that continues today.

We are all very lucky to have Shelley as part of our yoga life and hopefully she will inspire and educate us for many more years to come.” Steve W.

“Shelley is one of my favourite yoga teachers. A few things that sets her apart from others is the positive energy she brings into the room, non-judgemental and always so caring. She pays close attention to every student and notices where they are at in their practice, guiding and supporting them so that they feel nurtured and safe to continue their yoga journey at their own pace. Thank you Shelley for your amazing work.” Sabrina W.

“I had the pleasure of becoming a Hot Yoga student at the belated age of 58 and recently celebrated my 60th birthday with a personal yoga challenge, completing 120 classes in 100 days. Shelley has played a pivotal role in my yoga journey with her instruction, encouragement and love of the practice. Her dedication to helping students improve their wellbeing is without equal. Shelley makes time in class to provide students with individual support and is adept at breaking down each posture into sub-movements, making it easier to understand the goals of each posture. Shelley has a peaceful serenity about her that makes every class a joy to attend.” Paul J.

“Shelley presents her classes with empathy, displaying her desire to share her knowledge in an unhurried way that engages the entire class, i.e., less flexible and slow-moving to advanced practitioners. The consistent cadence and eloquent vocal delivery enables us as the student to easily follow each and every posture. Her mindfulness of the room and our practice is clearly demonstrated ensuring that the entire class is in the moment of what the posture requires, and we are then caught up in the meditative state. Her voice provides a supportive, gentle and very focused delivery leaving us feeling safe and that she really wants to teach, help, assist and guide us on our yoga path. We retain a feeling of confidence to engage the rest of the day and to return to the next yoga class to build on what we have been taught, helped and assisted with. At the end of each of her classes, I am nourished with my wellbeing and feeling peaceful, having received clarity, confidence and personal consideration.

Shelley’s explanation describing body and muscle movements is at a level that all students clearly understand and can follow her guidance. Whilst each class is different, the consistency she provides allows us to really focus on the instructions and thereby build our knowledge and skills, and explore the gifts of yoga.

I always find it hard to say thank you when I am in the presence of such a sincere practitioner, so I am thankful to be writing this as I am bawling my eyes out! Shelley, you are the one who helped me in my first class back after my bilateral total knee replacements, and this I will never forget. Thank you with all of my heart.” Paul S.

“I love Shelley’s classes - she is clear, kind and encouraging, and always takes the time to show us how to improve our postures to get the most benefits. I always leave Shelley’s classes feeling focused, grounded and ready to tackle whatever the day throws at me. I’ve learnt so much from Shelley’s classes and always look forward to her teaching.” Adelaide W.

“I have been practicing Hot Yoga for the past 6 years and Shelley’s classes are exceptional. Professional, caring and she corrects effortlessly. Shelley’s presence and tonality is always welcoming, encouraging and authentic and she shines with joy in every class.

I had a fall resulting in an emergency surgery to fuse my C1 and C2 vertebra 3 years ago which included a permanent cage of titanium to support my head. This surgery has resulted in permanently losing 50% rotation in my head, major PTSD and depression and severe stress on the joints below which causes much stiffness and pain in my neck and shoulders.

I was faced with having to give up yoga as even everyday movements were painful and challenging. Yoga had been such a big part of my life, so I was desperate to see if I could return. My first few classes back were heartbreaking, and I felt helpless and could barely do any postures let alone lie flat or turn my head. I felt such a loss of my independence, grief for my loss of ability and sheer hopelessness. Shelley literally saw the pain and frustration I was experiencing and took me aside on that first day back and beyond. Her words of wisdom and genuine understanding and support made me continue and never give up.

Thanks to Shelley’s brilliance, I continued my yoga practice and now I am back to enjoying my classes 3 times a week and have improved so much.” Meredith W.

“Shelley teaches from the heart, and her love and kindness radiates through her teaching. She has such a gift to be so nurturing and encouraging simultaneously. Shelley has the most beautiful calm voice and delivers the class with clear and precise instructions. When Shelley is teaching, you can genuinely feel how much she loves teaching and the pleasure she gets from sharing her knowledge with others. Her passion for yoga is very infectious.” Kimbo C.

“Shelley is someone who exudes love and warmth in life, and brings just that into her yoga classes. She creates such a beautiful environment and vibe in the room, bringing a sense of calm but also humility and can laugh at herself. Something in particular that has stuck with me is the way that Shelley has brought focus to balance in the body. For instance, alternating sides when getting up and down during the floor series and also through swapping my grip to the non-dominant side. I always look forward to her classes as Shelley has a way of encouraging her students in a gentle but challenging way.” Jaimee P.

“My Hot Yoga practice began almost 4 years ago. Shelley has been an instrumental part of my ongoing practice and keeping me in the room. We have shared our challenges and guided each other to grow in a helpful way. Shelley is positive, kind and very knowledgeable. She is a wonderful human and I am very honoured to be in her presence. A gift to the world, a person you can trust and admire.” Jesse B.
